Carol Cosgroe's weekend begins with the usual humorless exhaustion after a trying week at school. Her teaching voice, once creative and inspiration, warbles off-pitch. She's confused by a lack of response to the lessons that worked so well in the past. Convinced it's the students who need an attitude adjustment, Carol begins her Friday unhappy hour of correcting papers; however, some unexpected guests shake up her night when they remind her of what was, what is and what can be.
