2013 Summer
Youth Camps
|
In this camp, students will exercise their creativity and imagination as they discover the world of three-dimensional art. Students will explore sculptural form and self-expression as they work with a variety of materials including clay, mosaic, paper mache, and more. This is a wonderful opportunity for young artists to spread their wings as they create masterpieces of their own!
|
This camp is for students entering grades 4-6.
Here is a list of the main projects for the two weeks:
| |
- Glazed Pinch or Coil Pots
- Mosaic Trinket Box (slab-built and bisque fired during the first week, then adorned with mosaic during the second)
- Imagined Creatures - Use of recycled bottles and other materials to create an armature for sculpture, then cover with paper mache, and finish with acrylic or tempera.
- Tile bracelet - Create a small rectangular tile, use carving and textures to decorate the tile, then glaze. String cord through holes in the tile and create a knotted bracelet.
- We will make simple sketchbooks on the first day to use throughout the two weeks.
