2014 Summer
Youth Camps

A day in Literacy Lab will include reading, writing, experimenting and having fun. All activities allow for movement and creativity in a social, academic environment. A typical camp day will engage students in literature, journals, and room centers focusing on helpful skills for young learners.

This camp is for students entering grade 1.

Instructor: Laura Appert

Mrs. Appert is a third grade teacher in the Nazareth Area School District where her passion is teaching and inspiring young minds. She especially enjoys reading, writing, and creating fun and engaging lessons for her students. During the school year much of her time is devoted to her students. She is a PSU National Writing Project Fellow with a Master Degree in Education and has earned many reading and writing credits. Her undergraduate degree was in fine art and art education which she readily integrates in her daily teaching.

Mrs. Appert is the mother of two grown children and her whippet (dog) Bella! She is a lifelong learner with many interests including her love for nature, animals, art, photography, cooking, and of course reading and writing.

She loves learning and sharing her knowledge and experiences with students. Come explore and have fun with her at summer youth camp!
