2013 Summer
Youth Camps

A typical camp day will begin with a classroom lesson on that day's topic followed by hands-on activities in the lab. We will be building robots and learning the process as we go, sometimes individually and sometimes with a partner. Campers will use the same engineering lab that Penn State college students use.

This camp is for students entering grades 7-9.

Instructor: Marietta Scanlon

Dr. Scanlon currently teaches engineering and math courses at Penn State Lehigh Valley. She holds a bachelor's degree from Tufts University, a master's degree in engineering from MIT, and a PhD in materials science and engineering from Johns Hopkins University. She has spent many hours playing with Legos with her four sons. She teaches an introductory engineering course using the Lego Robots that will be used in Robotics Camp.

All camps will be held at the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus in Center Valley, PA.
