Silence

By Rosie Qin (College-Bound)

From my second story window
The snow, pristine, innocent
Silent
No longer imploring to be spoiled
Play in, Romped in

The stinging sharp breeze is back
I’m back, snow still falling
The weather controller loves
His vanilla sprinkles, he can’t get enough
It is cold, so cold.

I am protected from that cold
My mother made sure of that
For I am a walking marshmallow
Staggering from the weight of my
Five layers of shirts, sweaters, coats, Scarves, hats, gloves…
It is below zero and I am sweating

Finally, partial freedom, limited joy, restricted happiness
I am bound by my clothing
Like a prisoner freed but still shackled
The marshmallow is set loose trip over the yard…

The Dark Beginning to the Unwritten End

By Billy Solomito (Wanna-be Writers)

From Chapter One…

Ring! The last Friday bell had just rung, and the students of Green Bear High were racing out of the building. Normal 15 year olds rode bikes after school, played video games, or hung out out with their friends, but Zenton was not a normal 15 year old. After school, he’d run home to do whatever homework he had, and do whatever he wanted afterwards.

You probably are wondering what is happening, right? You most likely have a few questions, so I’ll try my best to answer the. Zenton is from mars, so you might say he’s a “Martian.” He lives alone and doesn't buy clothes; he makes them.

Zenton wears a black over coat over his white T-shirt, and black pants. He has white hair and purple eyes. Oh yeah, he has super powers, which he gets from his blue fang of water. When he shouts, “Water fang power up!” his clothes turn blue, and a mask appears that covers his head from his nose up.

When Zenton finished his homework, his watch got a message on it that told him to go to the canyon on the edge of town. He knew that his archenemy, Xazine, sent the message…

Sunset

By Shelby Boyle (Wanna-Be Writers)

Beautiful colors going from ground to sky,
A relaxing place to sit,
The sun going down, saying goodbye,
A fun place to play,
Watching birds fly into the distance.
A mesmerizing place to watch,
Clouds in the sky, doing a dance,
An enchanting place to dream,
The pastel sky growing darker and darker,
A pleasant place to stay,
To stay,
Stay until the sun is gone,
Stay and watch until it’s all done,
Stay,
Stay,
Sunset is the best time of day,
To stay,
Stay.

A Bump on the Head

By Matthew Latshaw (Author Adventures)

Hello my name is Matthew. One week ago I slipped in a puddle and fell down and I bumped my head so hard that I was crying to death. I had to put ice on it most of the afternoon. Before I slipped and bumped my head I asked one of my friends, Amanda, to come over and play in the pool. My goner still hurts if you touch it. We tried to put a slide in the pool. Mom borrowed a movie from Blockbuster; it was called Scooby Doo and the Lockness Monster. That is a cool movie. In the movie there is something called the games. They have to lift weights and throw them. I thought that was hard to do because I am not as strong as them. Then I went back outside to play in the pool. I played with my water gun. It is a super soaker water gun. My head was still hurting.

Bach’s Wonderful Music

By Victor Hakim (Seeing Through Writing)

Bach’s wonderful music is so danceable. It makes me think about trees, leaves and dirt in a Haunted House.

It makes me think of lots of colors, like black, green, brown, blue, yellow, and pink.

It’s just like a peaceful moment in the library, maybe in a church or a Haunted House.

It reminds me of playing piano. It also reminds me that next year, when I’m in 4th grade I’ll play the saxophone.

It feels so nice, comfortable, relaxing, hearable, and sad. That’s how good Bach’s wonderful music is.
