Outdoors where the sun shines
Where the dew drops gleam with a drop of sunlight

Flowers the colors of the rainbow

Humbleness
A feeling poem by Lauren Therese Geiger
Creative Composers I

Humbleness is the color of cream
It smells like rich, moist soil
It tastes like my Grandmother’s Yorkshire pudding
It Sounds like the quietness of dawn
It feels like a deed of kindness
It looks like the apron of a plain maid
Humbleness is a simple smile

Stacy’s First Bite
By Stacy Maier
Food Fanatics

As I was making the Oreo cookie dirt cup recipe, I could smell thw delicious frangrance of the pudding being made as we were pouring the Cool Whip into the bowl. At first it looked like mouantins of snow capped mountains on top of chocolate dirt, but whenwe stiorred it up, it looked like a McDonald’s McFlurry. It looked so delightful and I couldn’t wait to try it!

As I took muy first bite of the chocolate pudding pool, I could taste the crunchiness of the mashed Oreos and the softness of the pidding at the same time. It was so delicious. As I was savoring my first bite I thought to myself, “Yum, this is satisfying! Maybe I should try it with a gummy worm.!” So as I was munching on my first bite (still), I stuck a gummy work in my mouth. I chewed very hard on the gooey treat, but it wouldn’t break in half!

Finally after a lot of chewing, the gummy worm broke.

Where I’m From
By Jennifer Atlas
Creative Composers II

I am from little white lamps
And plush lime green carpets.
I’m from a broken down tree
And half eaten tomato plants.
From T., M., G., N., M., and P.
I’m from memories hanging on
Walls and in squeaky closets.
From moist chocolate chip cake with homemade icing.
I’m from tasty potato salad made by someone special.
I’m from “how’s my Princessa?” and “Hey kiddo!”

My Imaginary Friend and I
By Kendra Schaeffer
Creative Composers II

“Jumping is fun!” Angel exclaimed.
“Angel, stop jumping on my bed before my mom knows you are here with me,” I said.
“If she finds out you are here, I will get in trouble.” I exclaimed in fright.
“Let’s go outside,” Angel said.
“Good idea.” I said.
Before I head outside I want to tell you that Angel, my imaginary friend, is a princess. But when we went outside it started raining, so then we had to stay inside. I thought of a game we could play and I asked my brother and my sister if they wanted to play hide and go seek. They said yes and then we started to play. Then we decided to play tag. Soon it stopped raining. My brother, sister, and I went outside. We started racing around to different areas in our yard. All of a sudden, my brother fell in the mud. My imaginary friend had won.

Singing About Stories
By Antonia Spano
You’re Smarter Than You Think!

I sing about my right hand.
I sign about it because
I write with it.
I sing about writing because
I make up stories with it.
I sing about stories because
I’m in a story.
I sing about my story because
it is like a plum tree
waiting for fruit in the spring time
and having to bloom first.

Why is nature green?
By Kevin Virgo
You’re Smarter Than You Think!

The grass is green, the leaves are green.
Why is all of nature green? Maybe green
Is a signal for nature, maybe not?
I wish I could know. I tried
Google but it’s not there.
It is an Unknown answer!
I wonder why the creator
Came up with green.

The Street of Life
By Nicholas Santone
You’re Smarter Than You Think!

He begins to drum down the street of life. He will always be my grandfather,
even though I’ve never seem him.
He’ll always be my grandfather no matter what.

Now he is down in the middle of the street of life.
He is getting older and has a wife and has children of his own.

Finally he’s at the end of the street of life.
He goes to a dance and has a heart attack,
and never came back from that dance –
from the street of life.

My grandfather, my father, and I have brown eyes.
Also I love music just like my father and my grandfather.
