Lehigh Valley Writing Project (LVWP) has enjoyed a long history as a local site of the National
Writing Project (NWP), which was established at the University
of California at Berkeley in 1973. LVWP is located at Penn State
Lehigh Valley's Corporate
Learning Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Over 400 teachers

1989.
Mission & Vision: The mission of LVWP is
to establish communities of teacher writers of all disciplines
and all levels. We commit to practicing
and teaching writing as well as nurturing professional growth,
ultimately creating communities of student writers.
By
2008, LVWP will take a leadership role in the teaching of writing
among school communities by strengthening and supporting literacy
across the curriculum.
Professional

Writing Project has provided research-based, high quality
professional development for teachers and has been catalogued
as a Comprehensive School Reform provider under Title I. Programs
presented by the Lehigh Valley Writing Project are approved for No
