| My 14 Year Old It all began back in May 2003. My daughter ran away for a day. I found her immediately. I tried to get her counseling after that. I was told because I live in New Hampshire that I would have to go to District court to get a chins order(child in need of services). I did that and they made me as well as her get counseling which was fine but she got worse because they put her on probation. She violated and they placed her in a home for 2months where she picked up a few tricks. She learned what the system was all about. She came home and started off the bat hanging with the older kids and gang members. She violated again, By the way the probation officer hadn't even had her in counseling yet. She was told by her probation officer that she would be in placed in 2 weeks for 9 months to 18 months when she went back to court for her violations. Nothing like a go ahead to runaway. She ran away november 4 with another girl whom stole a car. They where chased from New Hampshire into Mass. where they crashed and were eventually arrested. I bailed her out so she could get placed back in a New Hampshire facility to get counseling and work on her behavior and our difficulty communicating. She was placed November 12 at 9 am where she then ran again that night at 8 pm and I was not contacted until I called at 10pm to see how she was adjusting. I have been looking for her ever since. I contacted my local police and was told she did not run from here so they could do nothing although she was spotted in this area. I was also told by a local police officer he had no idea about my daughter and that I would be lucky if I even found her because there are 150 kids missing in this city alone. nice huh..I have worked diligently day and night to find her more than my police department. I have also been told that she is not a priority because she made an adult decision to runaway. An adult decision and she is not even allowed to vote, drive, smoke or drink, but she can leave home. Tell me what is wrong with this state.. It has been 15 weeks and still no word on her. I just wish someone could help me.If you have any suggestions please email me at highkidder@aol.com Thank you..... |
