Biology Award

Students enrolled in Biology at Penn State Lehigh Valley are required to take Biology 110 and 240W. The first of these focuses on biodiversity, genetics, and evolution. The latter deals with the development and physiology of organisms.

Both courses are rigorous undertakings and stress that students think independently and creatively. Both courses capture current cell and molecular issues which are keen to today's biologist.

The Biology Award is given annually to the student with the highest overall grade point average who has completed both courses and is dedicated to collegiate excellence. The selected student shall also present a desire to pursue a future career which utilizes his biology education, eg., medicine, research in a specific discipline of biology, agriculture, science education, etc.
