Newsbank: Electronic Image Newspapers offers daily issues of Al-Hayat, Die Welt, Le Monde, El Pais newspapers.
ProQuest National Newspapers includes 27 major U.S. newspapers. Can limit to editorials, interviews, reviews, etc. using "Article Type."
Morning Call Archives is a searchable index of articles from 1980 to the present. Contact the library for full text.
Opposing Viewpoints provides pro/con essays of issues and some news, reference, and journal articles.

The CAT - Search for books in the Penn State libraries.
American National Biography Online offers biographical information on 17,000 Americans from all eras and walks of life whose lives have shaped the nation.
Tip: "Jump Start Your Research" lists names by topics such as "Women's Movement" and "The Depression."
Oxford Dictionary of National Biography provides 50,000 biographies of men and women who shaped Britain's past, from the fourth century BC to the year 2000.
Dictionary of Literary Biography and Contemporary Literary Biography provides biographies and literary criticism of authors.
Gale Virtual Reference Library includes the full text of many encyclopedias and other reference works that include biographical information.
ProQuest Direct (newspapers, magazines, business) Tip: Search a name in the "Person" box. Obituaries, interviews, and other materials can be selected via the "Document Type" menu
New York Times Historical (1851-2003) - Tip: Choose "obituaries" from the document type menu for a concise summary of a person's life.
LexisNexis Academic Universe - Tips: Search "headline" for a more targeted search. Check the number of words to identify the most in-depth articles. "Quick News Search" searches all sources but only the past two years.
