JOURNAL ARTICLE RESOURCES

CINAHL (Current Issues in Nursing and Allied Health Literature) includes journal articles, references to relevant books, chapters, nursing dissertations, and conference proceedings.

Tip: Use * as a "truncation" symbol to include various word endings. For example, a search of asperger* includes asperger, asperger's, and aspergers.

JStor offers the full-text (.pdf) of scholarly journal articles on a wide variety of subjects, including many in the social sciences.

Tip: Use the advanced search and try limiting to Title and Article (to eliminate reviews).

MD Consult includes medical reference books, a limited number of medical journals, comprehensive drug information, clinical practice guidelines and patient education handouts.

Tip: Patient handouts often offer a good overview of a medical condition.

PsycINFO is the primary database for psychology and related disciplines.

Tip: Use the thesaurus (Search Tools tab, then Thesaurus tab) to identify descriptors for your subject. Be sure to search these terms as descriptors rather than keywords.

ProQuest Psychology Journals is a subset of ProQuest Direct, including 300 full-text journals.

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's medical database of 9 million article citations and abstracts.

NOTE: Use the Get It button in most e-resources to find the full article. If an article is not available in full-text from our e-resources, the ILLiad link automatically fills in the citation information on the order form. Click submit at the bottom of the page. ILLiad articles will generally be available online in your account within 48 hours.
