Political Parties of the World offers details, by country, of all currently active parties of any consequence as well as concise overviews of national parliamentary and constitutional arrangements.

Political handbook of the world is a good source of background information on countries and organizations and for an overview of the year's political events.

Political Risk Yearbook provides lengthy analysis of each country's political and economic climate and risks, as well as forecasts on likely political and economic developments.

CQ Researcher includes at expert analysis, statistics, related books and articles and opposing viewpoints. For an example, see Exporting Democracy and links to related articles.

VIEWPOINTS

Opposing Viewpoints provides informative essays supporting different points of view on current issues.

CQ Researcher articles include a section "Pro/Con" in which an expert on either side of an issue present their arguments.

CIAO (International Affairs) is a comprehensive source for research in international affairs including books, conference proceedings, and articles from journals, NGOs, aresearch institutes.

Worldwide Political Science Abstracts indexes research articles in the fields of political science, international relations, law, and public administration and policy from 1975-to date.

Social Science Abstracts indexes journal articles on all aspects of the social sciences, including political science.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

Lexis/Nexis includes international news; transcripts of tv and radio programs; and business, legal and medical information.

POLICY ANALYSIS

PolicyFile (Public Policy Research & Analysis) draws its content from public policy think tanks, university research programs, research organizations and publishers.

SourceOECD (economic policy) offers the full-text of books and serial publications from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development. Also includes many of the data sets available from the organization.

WWW Virtual Library: International Affairs is a huge directory of links by topic on international affairs.
