Find Periodical Articles

E-Resource which can be used to identify journal, magazine, and newspaper articles on playwrights include:

• ProQuest Direct includes full-text articles about authors from journals and newspapers, as well as interviews of contemporary playwrights. Type the name into the box labelled Personal Name to search for an article on an author. If you would like to limit your search to interviews, change All Article Types to Interviews.
• New York Times Historical (1851-2001) includes interviews, obituaries, and biographical articles of playwrights.

• MLA International Bibliography is an international resource indexing scholarly journals, dissertations, and books.
• Academic Universe has full-text of the past ten years of U.S. and international newspapers, as well as transcripts of news and informational tv programs.

For years earlier than those covered by e-resources, check the Humanities Index, the MLA Index, or the Reader's Guide in the reference section for critical and biographical articles. In the Humanities Index and the Reader's Guide, look for the author's name, last name first. The MLA Index is classified by geographic area, century, and author.
