University Safety

The mission of the Department of University Safety is to promote an atmosphere free from fear for personal safety, property loss, or accident and thereby contribute to the academic excellence of Penn State. To attain this mission, our well trained and professional staff conducts routine patrol, parking enforcement, vehicle registration, and presents several awareness programs throughout the year.
Staff is certified in first aid/CPR/AED for medical emergencies.A close working relationship is also maintained with the Pennsylvania State Police located at the nearby Fogelsville Station. Serious criminal offenses are referred to the Pennsylvania State Police. A safe and secure campus is a high priority; individuals can take an active role in their own safety as well as the safety of others, by following University policies, employing personal safety steps and by engaging in crime prevention measures, such as reporting suspicious activity.
